We’re continuing the monthly ‘PlatForum’ discussion group at Dagun Station, following the break enforced by the Covid-19 restrictions on gatherings. The PlatForum starts 3.30 pm on the 4th Saturday afternoon of each month and ends by 5pm – open air on the platform of Dagun Railway Station . This coincides with the co-ops weekly fresh produce stall and the Dagun Community Group’s Saturday afternoon wine bar (the ChooChoo Bar).
This month we will be fortunate enough to have John Brady joining in and bringing along some examples of tools and technology that he uses in his orchard and nursery. John has many decades of experience in the large scale commercial orchard and nursery industries and has lived the path of moving away from heavy chemical use in export horticulture to his current approach of focusing on IPM and biological methods. However, everyone is urged to bring their own experiences to the discussion, and any useful resources they would like to share with others.
For those who do not know the background of IPM, here are some recent relevant introductory resources.
