The monthly ‘PlatForum’ discussion group at Dagun Station starts 3.30 pm on the 4th Saturday afternoon of each month and ends by 5pm – open air on the platform of Dagun Railway Station . This coincides with the co-ops weekly fresh produce stall and the Dagun Community Group’s Saturday afternoon wine bar (the ChooChoo Bar).
October’s PlatForum coincided with a whacking great thunderstorm and welcome rain causing most people to stay away and the rest to go home. This was a great practical outcome for the planned discussion on coping with the hot dry crunch before the summer rains. However there is still a bit of interest in the topic of irrigation and hot weather, so the November PlatForum will discuss irrigation and water management techniques for small market gardens.
This will be the last PlatForum for 2020, with the 2021 series starting on the 4th Saturday in February.
