PROGRAM
9 am Aarggh! Weeds! What can we do!     Brice St market garden plot (just off Stephen St)
Demonstration and discussion of options for weed management in organic market gardens, and a
discussion of some pasture weed issues.

11.am Weed ID – what is this thing called, love?    Kandanga Hall (Main St, opposite the school)
Bring along plants you want identified, and bring along examples of any local weeds that you think others
should become aware of.

12.30 pm Lunch – bring a plate of food for a shared meal (Kandanga Hall)

1.15 pm Accessing good local technical information (Hall)
What resources are available locally to help growers with technical information? Be prepared to share your
knowledge/sources with others.

2.30 pm What can I grow? – learn by doing  (Kandanga Hall)
Be part of a group of growers working out what types of market garden crops they are likely to have some
success with in their own gardens.  This is the first part of an “Action Research Project’, a hands-on activity over the next few months for you to work out what may suit you own situation.

4 pm pack-up
