What we know
- We can continue to take online and email orders for our regular Thursday afternoon co-ordinated drop-off service under the most recent government health orders.
- Everyone involved (growers and customers) must observe very strict measures to avoid contact and minimize public risk
- There is a large demand for produce, and a limited ability of our members to supply
- Many of our members are self-isolating, and unable to assist physically with the co-op
- Some of our standard drop off locations may be closed by the next delivery date on Thursday 2nd April(eg. Cooroy)
What we don’t know
- When stricter laws will come into force
- How long we will have enough helpers able to deal with the public
- What produce we will have available from week to week, depending on growers’ individual situations
What we are doing
- Implementing strict distancing, hygiene and contact tracing procedures during Thursday packing and delivery operations.
- Considering limiting the Dagun Station Saturday afternoon market to being a pick-up location for pre-ordered produce only(if necessary)
- Considering new drop-off locations and routes to cope with the change in demand for produce ordered on line.
- Encouraging customers to order pre-packed weekly mixed bags of produce, to greatly streamline packing and delivery
What you can do
- Base your order around a pre-packed mixed weekly bag, and supplement it with a few extra items if needed, rather than ordering each item individually (we do not know exactly what produce we have until Thursday morning, as supply is very unpredictable)
- Contact the co-op if you can safely host a drop-off point for a number of people on a Thursday afternoon or Friday morning (0459 225 399)
STAY SAFE, BE KIND
