Hi all!

A quick reminder that the Annual General Meeting of Mary Valley Country Harvest Cooperative will be held tomorrow, Sunday 29th November, at 5pm at the Imbil RSL Hall.  As per our Rules, 2 of our current Board of 7 members must resign, although may also nominate for re-election.

This is a chance to celebrate the co-op’s achievements for 2015 and meet fellow members of the co-operative to exchange ideas and help guide the co-operative in its future direction.

This meeting follows on from the regular last-sunday-of-the-month farm walk which is at Double Creek farm, Yabba Creek from 2-4.30 on the same day.  Double Creek Farm is a family run business that grows greenhouse produce including truss tomatoes, cucumbers, capsicum and eggplant following organic methods. Contact details for the farm walk are Tony and Mandy Caetano, 5 Butlers Corner Road Imbil QLD 4570,  07 5484 5266.  As for all the co-ops farm walks, please be prepared to make a gold-coin donation to the host for taking the time out of their working week to share information with other growers.

Matt Golinski recently visited Double Creek Farm and has created some fabulous dishes using their produce!! Follow his blog  http://matteatsgympie.com

The farm walk and AGM are a great opportunity for new and existing growers to get together and socialize while learning from each other and looking for ways to improve their own operation.

At the close of meeting, we will have a  BBQ dinner and drinks available on the banks of Yabba Creek.

See you then. Thank you everyone for your ongoing support of the co-operative and help progressing  small scale farmers in our region.

Kind regards,

Elaine Bradley, Secretary
