At the Summer School, we mentioned that we would follow up each month with a farm visit to discuss further important issues raised in the workshops. Our third visit is planned for Sunday 27th April! Details are:

Tamworth pigs prefer sleeping rough to living in lighthouses.
Phil Stringer will be showing us round his small pastured pig enterprise and subtropical fodder gardens. The recent rains have brought on some of the more interesting fodder plants and it would be a good time to look at them before the the pigs are turned in to dig them up.
Phil runs an email-based business, “Tamworth Flyers” supplying pork directly to customers on a mailing list. He is also a very experienced gardener, grizzled bush regenerator and general ‘foodie’ . It is very kind of him to offer up his Sunday afternoon to show people around and share his insights into looking for simple innovative ways of approaching the business of growing food.
The farm walk is at 1229 Noosa Rd Tandur, and the driveway is almost opposite Parkyn Rd. We will not be running a bus to this event, and ask that people use common sense and follow any signs that may be on the property on the day when it comes to choosing where to park. We intend to have our green “field day” signs up about an hour before the afternoon starts. Please let us know by email to maryvalleycountryharvest@gmail.com if you intend coming. (This helps us plan parking, and lets us know who to contact if there are any last-minute changes of plan.)
As usual, we invite you to bring a snack to share at the conclusion of the session. Tea, coffee and cold water will be provided. We ask that each attendee puts a gold coin donation in the tin for the farmer. These Sunday afternoon chats are proving to be a good way of people meeting each other and swapping ideas and information.
